Our Eight-Foot picnic tables can be easily altered to ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) design standards at no extra cost.  The Eight-Foot picnic table is the ideal table size to do it.  The ADA accessible option is not available with shorter tables, but can be incorporated into our longer tables also at no extra cost. The way it is done is straightforward.  The standard Eight-Foot picnic table with attached benches has the legs recessed 18” under the tabletop ends and is 30” tall.  To accommodate a wheelchair, we do three things:

1. We raise the tabletop height to 31 ½” to increase clearance under the table.
2. We recess the legs back two more inches to 20” away from the tabletop edge to allow more wheelchair wheel space.
3. We trim the last 20” off the benches beyond the leg on either one side of the table or both (just let us know your preference.)
